The Regenerative Ski Resort Has Arrived

Imagine arriving at a ski resort in the summer and the buzz on the mountain equals that of the winter. People are everywhere, all the restaurants, bars and shops are open and busy selling products grown/wildcrafted on the mountain. Everyone is excited to go on a mushroom hunt, or eat a mountainside wild food dinner paired with mountain herb infused cocktails. Kids spend the day connecting with nature and learning bushcrafting skills as their parents get some laps in on the mountain bike trails, or the whole family goes on a wild ecology-based scavenger hunt with an app on their phone. The clear-cut strips where the runs are in winter are full of vibrant wildflowers and herbs with no bare soil in sight and you can feel the entire mountain overflowing with abundant life. This is the power of MTN LAB.

We’re here to bring in the regenerative future of the ski industry, bringing engaging and connected experiences for all walks of life, and nourishing the mountain both as an ecosystem and as an economic system.

In order to heal ourselves and the planet we must remember how to deeply relate with the natural world, to be part of our environment and foster true relationship with all of life.

The Chief Dreamer

"Dreaming the Regenerative Ski Resort into existence is what I was put on the planet to do... that, and build soil!"

Paul Huttenhower is a regenerative educator, forager, and land steward with over a decade of experience in ecoliteracy, permaculture, and nature-based education. He’s led immersive programs in wild food harvesting, bushcraft, and ecological design both privately and publicly through a myriad of initiatives and organizations including Colorado Mountain College. Paul brings a hands-on, systems-thinking approach to transforming land, community, and education. His work weaves together permaculture design, food forest implementation, natural building, and watershed restoration. He is now spearheading a bold new initiative to support ski resorts in transitioning toward regenerative models—prioritizing mountain ecosystem stewardship and year-round community education rooted in deep ecology, reciprocity, and place-based learning
